BedExit didn't start in a lab. It started in elderly care homes — in hours of conversation with the people who live and work there — where we learned which fear is real, and which seconds matter.
What we learned on the ground
We spent months visiting elderly care homes — not to sell, but to listen. We asked what actually goes wrong, how often, and what it costs. The answer was consistent and clarifying: the injury families dread most is a fall. When a resident tries to get up unassisted and falls, it means a fracture — pain for the resident, extra hours for caregivers, a heavy bill for the family, and lost independence that rarely comes back.
We also learned that the tools meant to help were arriving too late. Pressure pads alarm after the patient is already up. Cameras invade the room. Wearables get removed. So we built for the one thing that changes the outcome: time. BedExit warns caregivers before the patient is on their feet.

BedExit is a safety and caregiver-awareness device — it supports the people doing the caring; it doesn't pretend to replace them, and it doesn't make medical claims it hasn't earned. We start with pilots on real beds, measure against real baselines, and expand from evidence.
